This morning I sat in the silence of the fresh, wet grass, under clouds that had just hours before watered the blades under my feet. The sounds of the city surrounded me, sounds of an awoken city, coming to life. I could feel the energy of people going places. The energy of crows acknowledging the new day. Of dogs and their owners taking time together. And in between it all I listened to the silence. The beauty of noise is what is between the noise. It’s where all the feeling is. It is where the pause is. When we breathe, we make effort, when we sigh, we release our effort. Between those two actions is a pause. That is when we are free of effort. That is when we are free to just feel. This morning I sat in the silence of the fresh, wet grass, under clouds that had just hours before watered the blades under my feet, and I felt it all.
